Rider Guide

Now that you’re the proud owner of your very own Kiwano KO-1, we want to keep you safe while you grasp life by the handlebars. This guide was created to share important safety and performance information with you. Please read it carefully and follow all the safety warnings and cautions before you take your first ride.

Balance Basics

We’ve designed your KO-1 with self-balancing technology, so there is no need to strain your muscles. Use slow, cautious and small movements. You can calibrate the angle setting of your KO-1 on the Kiwano app or LCD display on the device to match the angle you are most comfortable riding.

Your KO-1 works like the human body. Motion-sensing technology makes it possible for the KO-1’s sensors to detect whether your are leaning forward or backward. Center your weight above the wheel to remain stable and gently move forward to make it go forward and gently lean backward to make it go backward.

With a little practice, your KO-1’s intuitive design allows you to easily learn how to move forward, backward, turn and stop. We recommend that you use a friend to help spot you the first few times you get on your KO-1. We promise you will be a pro after practicing a few times!

When riding, try your best to avoid any sudden starts, stops, or turns as this is dangerous and can risk loss of control, collisions, and falls. To reduce the risk of injury, all riders must follow the safety guidelines and watch the Safety Video Tutorials available on https://support.kiwano.co
